For a highly skilled English-speaking mental health clinician, it should not be so difficult to find work!
It was a long and challenging road for me, thus I am deeply motivated to facilitate this process for other Expat therapists like myself. It took essentially 6 years for me to build a sustainable practice, only able to take private pay in a place where most therapy is covered by insurance. It does not need to be such a long and painful process.
There are many residents in Germany from all over the world who, like everyone else, need therapy and counseling. It is difficult to find therapists in Munich speaking English as a native tongue and understanding the cultural adjustment. Not only can you join this community as a therapist, but you can join my coaching group to meet like-minded clinicians!
I have developed a monthly Intervision group (Peer Group Supervision), am building a group practice of American clinicians in Munich and other parts of Germany, and I’m now offering Coaching for Expat therapists new in Germany.
