About Me
Welcome! My name is Raven (she/her). I offer a compassionate, non-judgmental space where you can share your story, process challenges, and develop tools for healing and personal growth.
Originally from Canada, I have called Munich home since 2016. My background includes a PhD in Psychology, certification in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and a license to practice psychotherapy in Germany (Heilpraktikerin für Psychotherapie). I am also working toward licensure as a Registered Psychotherapist in Ontario, Canada.
Counselling Approach
I believe the therapeutic relationship is the cornerstone of effective counselling. I aim to build this relationship through warmth, empathy, and respect. In this supportive space, we not only address present concerns but also consider how past experiences and relational dynamics may still influence your thoughts, emotions, and behaviours today.
My counselling approach is rooted in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), evidence-based therapies that highlight the connections between your thoughts, behaviours, and emotions. CBT offers practical tools for noticing and reshaping unhelpful thinking patterns, while ACT emphasizes learning to accept situations and emotions we cannot change, and instead focusing energy on actions that reflect your values. Together, these approaches provide strategies for managing daily challenges and fostering lasting change through greater psychological flexibility and alignment with what matters most to you.
Counselling foucs areas include:
- Depressive feelings, anxious thinking and behaviours, difficulties regulating emotions
- Stress, burnout, perfectionism, and coping with performance pressure
- Self-esteem, confidence, and body image concerns
- Adjustment to life changes
- Focus, motivation, procrastination, and productivity
- Relationship and interpersonal concerns
- Grief and loss, including bereavement and other life changes
