This gave Lance the opportunity to build employment, mentoring and experiential opportunities for young people in effort to contribute to their greater community. He also works as a parent coach to support mental well-being, helping to ground perspectives in effort to develop working solutions when caring for children.
Lance has targeted professional training in:
Solution Focused Brief Therapy, Non-Violent Communication, Narrative Therapy, Mindful-Based Stress Reduction, Comprehensive Sexuality Education, Crisis Management, Child Protection, Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Sensory Integration, Gender Equity, Social Transition and Differentiated education.
Solution Focused Counseling Services
Solution focused brief therapy is a specific approach that concentrates on a client’s best hopes for the future. Drawing on strengths and resources, families and adolescents are able to invest in needed self-exploration and also build on previous successes in effort to overcome present difficulty. As a result, Lance has been able to assist both parents and adolescents to face social-emotional trauma as well as life decisions centered around identity and relationships. Lance provides individual counseling for parents and adolescents and can also provide family counseling.
His counseling methods work to address:
- utilizing communication strategies that promote harmony
- uncertain feelings around depression
- behaviors that lend to overthinking
- transition issues and adjustment
- relationships and identity issues
- sorting through future expectations
- positive discipline and active listening skill building
- awareness of important developmental needs across adolescence
- management of social emotional needs while overcoming conflict
- a work/life balance through wellness and mindfulness
- connection for families needing psychological assessment and diagnoses
- liaising with academic, social and emotional needs in school
Liaising with needed medical intervention
Since 2014, Lance has worked closely with the psychiatric and psychological services in the Rhein-Neckar Kreis and Heidelberg. Lance provides the needed coaching necessary for families to access the help they need through a network of professionals who are able to meet specific mental health diagnosis.
