Originally from Phoenix Arizona, Michelle attended Arizona State University earning a bachelor of science degree in psychology in 2001. Her interest in coping with stress and chronic illness led her to attend the University of Utah where she completed a Masters of Science in 2007 and Doctorate of Philosophy in Clinical Psychology in 2010.
Throughout her time in Utah, she worked clinically in several community settings including the Salt Lake City Veteran’s hospital in psychological consulting in acute medicine, The University School of Medicine Pain Management Clinic, and The 4th Street Community Clinic offering group therapy for homeless youth. Michelle also saw clients by community referral for Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapy. Michelle approaches treatment from this perspective with emphasis on client focused goals.
Michelle moved to California and conducted her clinical internship at the Palo Alto Veteran’s Hospital in behavioral medicine completing training in therapy for patients in haematology and oncology, pain management, primary care psychology, inpatient substance abuse and relapse prevention. Prior to moving to Germany Michelle worked in research and clinical practice at the Homeless Veterans Rehabilitation Program at the Palo Alto Veteran’s Hospital. This program approached treatment from a Cognitive Behavioral approach with a focus on a population of veterans with complex case histories including homelessness, substance abuse, trauma, and severe mental illness.

Michelle has experience working with adults of all ages and teenagers helping them to make lasting changes in how they approach and manage stressful situations. She helps clients with stressful events, decision making and behavior change by helping individuals reframe unhelpful, inaccurate or negative thoughts to manage daily emotional challenges.

Michelle’s fee is €120 for the initial session of 50 minutes.
